Diagram.website
Diagram.website is an internet map and my curatorial landscape, gathering more than 200 links to different internet philosophies, movements, and ways of inhabiting the web.
I imagine it as the starry night in a remote area, far from the artificial light of the city. When we are caught inside social media, it can be difficult to see the depth and scale of the internet, just as the universe becomes almost invisible beneath the lights of an urban environment. Diagram is an invitation to look up again, to discover unfamiliar constellations, and to remember that the internet is much larger than the small part we visit every day.
I believe handmade maps offer an intriguing alternative to the ways we are usually asked to navigate space. They are not trying to make a 1:1 representation of reality, nor do they promise the shortest route between two points. Instead, they carry the memory of walks that were important, encounters worth remembering, and paths someone felt compelled to share.
Made in collaboration with Elliott Cost.
